ALEX BALDI
Founder
Alex has been working with and teaching children for most of her life. She began her career as an Adolescent Mental Health Therapist. While working in this capacity her favorite treatment modality for children was Play Therapy because it allowed children to express themselves and learn in a child-centered, fun way.
After leaving clinical therapy, Alex returned to school to get an MEd in Elementary Education. She taught and assisted in several Elementary grades where she loved to watch children learn and master new skills and information. In her role as teacher, play seemed to be just as important for learning as she had found it to be in therapy.
As a busy mom of two young children, Alex saw a need for age appropriate classes that encourage kids to be independent, expose them to conceptual skills, work on cooperation and socialization and most importantly, make learning playful and fun.

Alex started Buffalo Learning Lab as a culmination of all of these past experiences and passions. Alex believes that play-based learning and creativity are important parts of childhood. She strives to provide what she jokingly refers to as edutainment (education+entertainment) in every class. Her goal is to help to cultivate a love of learning in all of the children who attend Buffalo Learning Lab classes and events.

In her spare time Alex enjoys cooking, baking and being creative. These passions led her to add adult classes in crafting, baking, and Cricut crafting as well as several Pop-Ups and make-and-take events! Don't worry! Adults won't be taught as if they are children, though we do hope they will have just as much or more fun! Alex also has experience teaching adults as she spent a few years as a corporate trainer before"retiring" to stay home after her oldest child was born.
